2021 annual report
As we approach Heart for the House each year, we are stirred with vision for what God has placed in our hearts, but we are also reminded that we serve a faithful God. Since the very beginning of ZOE, God has proven that He is faithful, generous, and has a heart for this house He is building. This last year has only reminded us that ‘over-and-above’ is in His nature, so we look forward with faith to the One who’s wholeheartedly building ZOE.
Heart for the House is also a reminder that God allows us to collectively partner in building His house. This offering has never been about an amount, it’s always been about participation. ZOE has been built on the faithfulness of people devoted to the vision God is accelerating through this house; to see people saved, disciples made, leaders raised, and the church released. We come together in this miracle story that God has written, expectant for what He is going to do, and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of it all. We thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your faithfulness and sacrifice, to go over-and-above, and participate in what God is doing in this house. We know that our future is beautiful, and we are honored to be building it with you.
Love,
Chad and Julia
Izzy had just started attending ZOE in September of 2019. Only 6 months later our church would pivot to broadcasting services online and serving our city through ZOE Cares due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was during this time that Izzy started to serve on our Zoe Serve Team. Since then, Izzy began leading our Parking team and loves being the first to greet church guests and the last to say bye! This year, she took her faith further and got baptized at our first baptism event in over 18 months. She’s decided to give her brokenness, generational curses, alcohol and drug abuse to Jesus and never looked back. As she says, “Out with the old and into a new life with Jesus!”

Last year I was going through one of the darkest seasons of my life after losing my aunt who raised me due to Covid-19. I was so sad and felt so overwhelmed after losing one of the most important people in my life. I saw online that Zoe was getting ready for a fast and my friend invited me to join. At first I thought it was crazy, however, I decided to give it a chance, and to give God a chance. I finished the fast, and started watching every message, sometimes twice a day. One day I was invited to come serve at the first in-person service since Covid shut downs and I broke down in tears because I had been asking God for a sign that this was my church. After I showed up to serve, I started attending Connect Groups and I instantly felt like the grief was lifting from my heart. I felt like I belonged somewhere, and I realized that this was what life was supposed to be like. Zoe was God’s answer to my prayer, it came at the darkest moment of my life, it saved me.

HAVE SAID YES TO JESUS SINCE THE LAUNCH OF ZOE CHURCH
Water Baptisms represent our old life being buried and our new life coming out of the water with Jesus. (Romans 6). After not being able to host baptisms for over 18 months, we had the honor of baptizing 22 people at Marina Del Rey beach this summer. 300 people in our community came out to support those who were taking the next step in their faith journey.
Jesus is our message. We’re dedicated to God’s will that all will be saved through Jesus. Every weekend we see more and more people dedicate their lives to Jesus. What a privilege it is to partner with Him in His plan for the world.
Not only do we desire for people to be saved, we desire for them to strengthen their relationship with Jesus and know Him deeper. The ZOE life, the abundant life, is lived in rich relationship with Jesus and community.
One of the world’s greatest needs is leadership. We believe leadership is simply influence. We seek to raise up leaders who follow Jesus, in the church and across all walks of life.
The local church is God’s plan for the world - to tell everyone about Jesus in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the ends of the earth. In other words, from your cul de sac, to the rest of the world. We’re committed to make a lasting change in Los Angeles and around the world.
