"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.(Joshua 1:8-9)
We use the SOAP method to guide our scripture reading and journaling each day.
You will need a Bible, pen & a journal.
S: SCRIPTURE
Open your Bible to your reading for the day.
Take your time reading and allow God to speak to you.
When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you that day, and write it in your journal.
O: OBSERVATION
What do you think God is saying to you in this scripture?
Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you.
A: APPLICATION
Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life currently.
Perhaps it's instruction, encouragement, a new promise, or corrections for a particular area of your life.
Write how this scripture can apply to you today.
P: PRAYER
